Sidekick Sync - Privacy Policy

Sidekick Sync ("the Extension") is a Chrome extension developed by Sidekick Golf ("we", "us"). This policy describes how the Extension handles user data.

Data We Collect

The Extension collects and processes the following data:

• Authentication credentials — Your Sidekick account email and password are used to log in to the Sidekick API. A JWT token is stored locally in chrome.storage.local to maintain your session. Your password is never stored.
• Golf shot data — The Extension reads shot metrics (carry distance, total distance, lateral dispersion, club name, session date) from TrackMan web pages you visit. This data is stored temporarily in local browser storage until you choose to sync it.

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely to:

• Authenticate you with your Sidekick account
• Import your TrackMan shot data into your Sidekick account when you click "Sync"

We do not use your data for any other purpose.

Data Sharing

Your shot data is sent only to the Sidekick API and stored in your personal Sidekick account. We do not sell, transfer, or share your data with any third parties.

Data Storage

• Local storage — Authentication tokens and cached shot data are stored in chrome.storage.local on your device. You can clear this data at any time by logging out or clicking "Clear" in the Extension popup.
• Server storage — Synced shot data is stored in your Sidekick account on our servers. You can delete your account and all associated data by contacting us.

Permissions

• storage — To persist your login session and cached shot data locally.
• tabs — To detect when you are on a TrackMan page so the Extension can offer to import data.
• Host permissions — To read shot data from TrackMan web pages and send it to the Sidekick API.

Third-Party Services

The Extension interacts with:

• TrackMan (trackmangolf.com) — to read your shot data from their web interface. We are not affiliated with TrackMan.
• Sidekick API (sidekick.golf) — to store your shot data in your account.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this URL.
